Thu, Apr 2 3:00PM - Fri, Apr 24 6:00PM
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia , Ethiopia
"Arada" is the first chapter of a photographic collection by Italian photographer Adriano Marzi, featuring images from the Addis Ababa popular sefer (districts) which are gradually disappearing, and it's dedicated to City's central areas as Doro Manekia, Sarategna Sefer, Atekilit Tera, Wube Braha, Talian Sefer, Erii Bekentu, Seba Dereja, Ras Makonen Deldeye. Fascinated by the socio-economic network and the strong tradition which characterize daily life in these informal communities, Italian photographer Adriano Marzi is working to preserve their memory. His photographic collection will be gifted to the Ethiopian people. After the opening at the Addis Ababa Museum last December, the photographic collection is on tour in Art Galleries, Cultural Institutes and other Addis public spaces (churches, theatres, historical buildings) throughout 2015. The tour will continue until the completion of the renovation work of the Addis Ababa Museum, where the photographic collection will be finally hosted as permanent exhibition in an exclusive hall dedicated to the City’s memory.
