Event Details
The Alfajiri street kids art is a Kenyan community based organization whose main purpose is to reach the children living on the street through art creation and help them realize their worth and talent and help them leave the street hence empowering them for their independence future.
Alfajiri street kids’ art has collated the art work of the street kids and young people forced to live on the street and rubbish dumps of Nairobi.
The Art Exhibition is the third one to be exhibited in Nairobi and it is an opportunity to see hundreds of street kids’ artworks (including drawings, paintings, writings and a documentary) to illuminate the vision of our country. The kids tell their stories through art, and the exhibition will be a depository of the chronicles of their lives in the streets. The paintings and drawings signify these kids’ ability to use their imagination to create abstract ideas; and the gallery will, therefore, be an experience of puzzlement to the attendees.
The exhibition will most certainly prompt the guests to look at the street kids differently. It will inspire a positive view in you if you take the guided tour with the Alfajiri team since these kids living in desperate circumstances are our treasures in the rubbish.
The event runs from 5th to 29th of April, at The Nairobi Museum of Kenya and is open to everyone.
