Africa Internet Summit (AIS) is held annually and organized by the African Network Information Center (AFRINIC) which is the regional internet registry for Africa and other internet stakeholders. The Summit dubbed AIS17 will be a platform for technocrats and business to discuss policies, trends, resources and challenges in growing internet for sustainable development in Africa and the Indian Ocean Region. Launched in The Gambia in 2012, it consists of seminars, workshops, tutorials, conference sessions, birds-of-a-feather (BOFs), and other forums for sharing ICT knowledge within the African region. The 2016 edition was held in Gaborone, Botswana and was attended by over 300 delegates from 15 countries around the world.
