After receiving over 200 applications from Ghana, Nigeria, and Côte d’Ivoire, 10 finalists have been selected to attend Accra, Ghana on April 21st for the Affordable Nutrition Forum, where they have the chance to win one $15,000 prize, and one audience choice award to help grow their venture.

Why affordable nutrition, and why now? West African economies like Ghana, Nigeria, and Côte d’Ivoire are growing rapidly, yet nutrition for children still lags behind. In Ghana, UNICEF estimates that 57% of children under 5 are anemic, 23% are stunted, and 30,000 children suffer from Severe Acute Malnutrition annually. Parents want to invest in their children’s future by making them as ready to learn and grow as possible, but the nutrient-rich foods that fuel that brain power are often inaccessible or unaffordable. This doesn’t just affect children physically - it affects their ability to contrate and focus in the classroom, which ultimately leads to poor results. We know that today's children are tomorrow's entrepreneurs and leaders.
