Event Details

Made in Africa is organizing a free art exhibition to the general public on the 22nd and 23rd February, 2014. Venue: Hub Accra (near Ako Adjei park, Osu)

Some of the artists exhibiting include: 

Jonathan kwegyir aggrey (Watercolor Artist)- The youngest of eight siblings, was born in 1984. He received both his basic and senior education in Ashaiman. When he was about five years old he knew that he wanted to be an artist. His family and friends did not discourage his early efforts but rather visualized his potential and realized that he had to be an artist. He continued to study and work as a part-time roadside artist from 1995 to 2003. Jonathan likes to work in all kinds of media but he is best known for watercolour. Jonathan has had the privilege of exhibiting in group and solo exhibitions in Ghana and abroad, appearing in several publications.

William K. Ankrah (Stringed / thread artist) - born on the 7th June 1975 to Mr.Nanfah Ankah and Madam Georgina  Amoah.The First born of (4) four siblings, married to Mrs. Ivy Mirekua Ankah.I started my Basic Education at Nsein in Western Region of Ghana, and later continue my junior secondary education at Mataheko 1’ J.S.S the year 1992. He learned a new trade called STRINGED ART.

Foster Sakyiamah (oil on canvas artist) - Foster developed his artistic talents right from primary to middle school and up. However, he studied at Ghanata College of Arts and mastered graphic design and painting, which are his strength and are of expertise. He has engaged in many solo and group exhibitions locally and hoping to expand to the international markets. In his arts, women and children are his subject matter

Francis Annan Affotey (oil on canvas artist) - born on 24th December, 1985 in Accra. He graduated from Ghanatta College of Arts and Design  in 2007 with three graduation awards out of five In his early childhood, poses was a general part of his life. This later had a greater impression on his mind as he grew up, thus he appreciating the environment he found himself in. You will always find majority of Francis works in poses of beautiful african ladies. He has held solo exhibitions at Golden Tulip hotel, British Council and Novotel Hotel.
