The summit whose theme is “Managing Media Relations and Government Communications in The Age Of New Media: Issues, Challenges & Opportunities” aims to enhance the practical and professional competence of media relations and government communications practitioners in Nigeria. From its inception in Cardiff, United Kingdom, in 2010, the summit has been held in Accra, Ghana (2011) and Dubai, UAE (2012 and 2013), attracting participants from across various geographies and economic sectors, ranging from core practitioners to policymakers and research students. This year’s edition promises to go even further by fostering direct engagement and interface between the legislative arm of government, civil society and the executive, with a view to sharing ideas on better ways to enhance people-oriented governance through improved debate and dialogue, with the aid of modern technology platforms such as social media.
