The next Thursday Lates is happening on the 3rd August and you’re all invited! 🥳
This time, we'll be exhibiting the work of Rechel Oppong. Based in Accra, Ghana, Rechel Rodham Oppong is a self-taught artist specialising in portrait painting. Her journey began in 2017, inspired by artists such as Frida Kahlo, and took her to Belgorod, Russia, where she studied Art Design (yes, she speaks Russian!)
She returned to Ghana to continue pursuing her passion, and in 2022, she started a new series called In My Solitude, exploring the positive impact that comes from being alone.
With her art, Rechel explores the depths of human expression and emotion. She’s drawn to shapes and lines, seamlessly incorporating them into her paintings to create stunning and emotionally evocative pieces. Her goal? To create artwork that forges a deep emotional connection with the audience.
It’s our 10th Thursday Lates, and we’d be honoured if you celebrate it with us by showing your face at the next exhibition to see Rechel’s work in person. So mark your calendars, tell a friend, and prepare to be moved and inspired.
