Event Details

Instead of selling my classic car the usual way, I’ve decided to take a road less travelled. I’m going to raffle this beauty to help raise money for my Food Forest Project at Greenpop’s Trees for Zambia 2015. Turning what would have been a sad goodbye into something to celebrate.

I've been working on this project for two years and so far it has been a tree-mendous success. With an additional funding injection we can significantly expand and improve. The project is located at Sons of Thunder Farming Cooperative just outside Livingstone. Here we have planted over 40 varieties of fruit and nut trees, bushes and herbaceous plants. These trees are interplanted with nitrogen fixers and vegetables for maximum yield, a real diverse polyculture a.k.a. Food Forest.

The car on offer is a 1967 Ford Taunus 20M Turnier. 2.0L V4 engine, four speed, shifter on the column. It's a rare collectible classic, and also the perfect surf vehicle, easily fitting your 9'2" longboard inside. Seats go down flat and you can sleep in the back. It's been my daily runner for two years and still only 180,000 miles on the clock.

You can check it in action as one of the stars of the Jeremy Loops video Sinner.

It was also featured in the short film Two Detectives by Lukas Kuhne.

Tickets are R100 each and are available through Quicket.

The draw date is tentatively set for Wed Jan 28, more details to follow soon.
