Lichter - Distant Lights Director: Hans-Christian Schmid, Germany 2003, 105 minutes The story of two cities on the river Oder, Frankfurt on the German side and Slubice on the Polish side. The former conflict between east and west has continued on an economic level since the end of the Cold War. It is a film about people determined to reach the Federal Republic of Germany, and about people who discover that Germany is anything but paradise, as well as about legal and illegal transactions and a defunct east-west love story.
