Our featured project will be the Carpenters Square. You can purchase a kit of 6 different six-inch wide strips of Tanzania Fabric with pattern for $30 at our Tanzanian Treasures Shop at the retreat. All fabrics have been washed/pressed. We will also be demonstrating a Safari Look Table Runner. There will be many fabric options: commercial, hand dyed and batiks from East Africa. A variety of patterns and kits will be available as well as cotton background fabrics.” You can bring your own fabric if you wish. A letter with fabric requirements and tentative schedule will be mailed to you before the
workshop.

Besides piecing and quilting fun, we'll gather for morning and evening devotions, great food with a Tanzanian flair, we'll learn a Swahili song, try on kangas (traditional African dress), see lots of photos and learn facts about Tanzania, East Africa and it's many projects.

Facilities

Carol Joy Holling’s first-class Swanson Retreat Center will be your home for the retreat. You’ll enjoy oversized sleeping rooms with two queen beds, restroom and shower, television and wireless broadband internet. There are also more than 300 acres of land to explore during your down-time and a top-notch kitchen and dining space for your retreat experience!

Cost

The cost of the retreat is dependent on room occupancy. Please check the registration form for occupancy costs. The cost includes overnight housing, all meals, snacks and all session fees.
