"Silence is a Woman" by Sitawa Namwalie Directed by Alice Karunditu The show "Silence is a Woman" is an entertaining performance of poetry and stories. It is an exploration of the countless spaces and faces of silence in my life. You've heard it said many times, 'Silence is a virtue; silence is golden'. But is that really true? "Silence is a Woman" explores the many ways in which our silence imprisons us, makes us complicit in our own alienation. The show is about the silences in our homes, our work, our politics and our relationships. It will make you laugh, cry and wonder out loud about the lives of Kenyans. -Sitawa Namwalie (2014) Cast: Sitawa Namwalie, Checkmate Mido & Aleya Kassam Instrumentalists: Willy Rama & Boaz Otieno At the STORYMOJA FESTIVAL 2014 Date: Saturday September 20, 2014 Venue: Louis Leakey Memorial Auditorium, Nairobi National Museum, Museum Hill Time: Show starts 7pm; Doors open 6pm Duration of show: 1.5 hours Ticket: Ksh1000/- Age Rating: 15yrs and above Parking: Limited parking Bar & Food Services: Available from 6pm Contact: Sitawa Namwalie on Facebook
