NETPLAT Nigeria will officially launch both the Amazon (Women) Cooperatives on March 9, 2017 at NuStreams Conference and Culture Centre, Ibadan by 11.00am. The organization through its Enterprise Cooperative Development initiative is focused on employing the cooperative framework to facilitate business development, employment generation, wealth creation and community development. Our interests in launching these cooperatives first is the gender sensitivity of the cooperatives and more importantly putting our women at an advantage to tap into the numerous opportunities the financial institutions as well as other agencies (both local and international) have for them, one of which is the Bank of Industry. Incidentally, the launch of the cooperatives falls around the period when women are celebrated worldwide. March 8 every year is dedicated as the International Women’s day, and we have chosen this period not only to celebrate our women, but also provide this investment and enterprise cooperative platform to provide an avenue for our women to connect with each other to create the future that they desire.
