Starts: Friday, 18 November, 2016 07:00am
Ends: Friday, 18 November, 2016 09:30am
The Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund (Fund) will launch the State of the South African Child (SOTSAC) report on 18 November 2016. The report is a culmination of a comprehensive research conducted by the Fund’s strategic partners Deloitte.
The research depicts a worrying state of affairs in relation to child mortality, child safety and other social ills that impact negatively on children and the youth.
Unlocking the power of the community is absolutely imperative in ensuring the safety and security of our children. As a collective South Africans need to investigate ways of creating the platforms for communities to actively participate and engage in a self-sustaining manner so that responsibility is owned by the community.
The Nelson Mandela Children's Fund, Deloitte, Girls & Boys Town and Partners for Possibility have started the journey, and are calling upon Government, Business, Civil Society, Media, Organised labour and institutions of research etc. to join in the journey of Changing the way society treats its children and youth.
