Ewe Kente Festival, Agotime Kpetoe, Ghana
Starts: Sunday, 6 September, 2015 07:00am
Ends: Sunday, 13 September, 2015 09:00pm
Reflecting the complexity of human society, the technical composition of the EWE KENTE is the web of
human emotions, cultural values, social identity, ideas, and even dreams that have been woven
inextricably into one unit.
A little over two decades ago, Nene Nuer Keteku III, Konor of Agotime and Custodian of the Ewe Kente,
Chiefs and people of the Agotime Traditional Area, revived a domestic ritual - the purification of the
weaving loom and accesories - into a traditional festival known as AGBAMEVORZA or KENTE
FESTIVAL held in Agotime-Kpetoe and other villages in the Volta Region in Ghana.
