The urban dictionary defines a shero as a woman or man who supports women's rights and respects women's issues The Association for the Advancement of Liberian Girls (AALG) and African & American Women for Peace women & girls Empowerment And Culture Exchange (AAW Peace) sees a Shero as a female hero, A supporter and advocate for the rights of women and girls but also for humanity as a whole, A woman who strives for success in spite of the limitations society puts on being a woman or a girl. The first award show will be held in Liberia and will recognize Liberian women and girls only, hence The African Sheroes Award – The Liberia Series. Our aim is to grow this platform across the continent and then in the Diaspora.
