Event Details

Join us at this year’s Women In Africa Conference 2014 as we Learn, Share and Network.

The trajectory of women across Africa has been on the rise, with women enjoying greater equality in all parts of life and consequently more women empowered in their own lives at home and in the work place. Much work still remains however, particularly in the work place where disparities between men and women remain evidenced by under-representation by women on boards, at various management levels and in political office.

In 2014/2015, WIA will be closely focused on how women can consolidate the gains already made in the careers (and beyond) and how to pave the way for greater empowerment and representation for women in the work place. As part of this, topics to be discussed will include:

Leadership and Governance
Participation, representation and accountability
Sustainable Social and Economic Growth
Private sector

The women in Africa forum is a unique opportunity to reach a broad Africa wide audience of government officials and leading businesswomen who make a significant contribution to economic prosperity in generally marginalized sectors. Access to the audience is guaranteed to increase contact base and network throughout Africa.

Share in our vision to:

Raise awareness
Monitor and evaluate advances
Build alliances and partnerships
Provide resources, tools and insights
Grow and inspire the next generation of women

The forum aims to bring speakers and professors from organisations within Africa and around the world. Participation from foundations, non-profit organisations, governments, women leaders, dignitaries, women board members, large corporations and national, regional and international media.

The 2 day event will have presentations, case studies, panel discussions, workshops, career and recruitment fair, one to one meetings, networking lounges and a gala dinner with entertainment.

This forum will aim to attract women from across the region, continent and around the world from all sectors and backgrounds. More than 300 Women from across Africa will be attending this Forum.
