A powerful coalition of nearly 400 individuals and organizations is calling for the immediate cancellation of the Israeli Film Festival at Silverbird Cinema in Accra. They argue the event whitewashes ongoing atrocities in Gaza and accuse the festival of promoting apartheid and genocide through cultural means.

Prominent Ghanaians, activists, and groups are uniting to boycott sponsors and stage peaceful protests, emphasizing Ghana’s historic stand with oppressed peoples worldwide. The coalition warns that supporting the festival conflicts with Ghana’s values and demands that universities and sponsors withdraw their backing immediately.

The movement plans to keep the pressure on throughout the festival, urging the public to join in pickets and spread awareness on social media, insisting that history will judge those who enable injustice.
