10th October 2025, Nakuru Golf Club, located at the foot of Menengai Crater, is excited to host the annual Conservation Cup golf tournament - to coincide with the celebrations to mark Kenya’s  Environmemt day ( Mazingira Day) - is a public holiday focused on environmental conservation and sustainability..
This event is dedicated to fostering sustainable conservation initiatives. All funds raised will support the reforestation and restoration of the Menengai forest, making it a perfect opportunity for both seasoned golfers and newcomers to enjoy a day on the course while contributing to a vital cause. 

 

Menengai Crater, the world's second-largest caldera, has suffered extensive forest loss due to human activities like deforestation and charcoal production, leading to a decline in native tree species. This stunning location is also a hub for ecotourism, offering activities such as hiking, bird watching, and visits to geothermal sites, attracting a diverse array of visitors from near and far.
