The biennial Africa Impact Forum (AIF2020) taking place in Accra, Ghana is the coming together of Africa Leadership Initiative Fellows from across the African continent, to deeply connect and engage on matters of significance to the continent. Ultimately, the Forum’s aim is to deepen the pool of influential, effective and ethical leaders across Africa who assume personal and collective accountability for the “Good Society”. This year’s theme is BUILDING TO LAST: LEADERSHIP VS. SYSTEMS.
African countries must evolve from the current state of fire-fighting to taking a long-term view and building pre-emptive, resilient systems and sustainable institutions that will outlive the continent’s most formidable leaders. The thinking should be about Africa moving forward beyond 2020, and what lasting systems and structures can be developed to enable and drive the change we seek towards sustainable economic growth, development and shared prosperity.
